My better-half took these pictures last summer while hiking in the mountains of Washington State, USA. I thought this would be a good way to commemorate World Wildlife Day in honor of our “wild” brothers and sisters. 🙂
A crocus flower in my front yard bloomed just before a frost. The edges of the petals got a little “burned.”
This heron bird was wading in a pond near a place I once lived. After fishing awhile, he (or she) left the water and stood on the bank. The poor thing looks so cold and muddy! It was a chilly, wet February day.
I took this picture near my home by the Pacific Coast.
In my books, the bad folks take many prisoners. This image gives me inspiration for a facility where prisoners might be held. It has a stark and ominous look.
In the real world, this picture is of a construction site, not a prison or military base.

Our wonderful son, Vyeshka, passed away three years ago on this day. I truly believe he held on for Valentines Day that year so he could spend one more holiday with us. Though I feel him with us in spirit every day, I so long to see him and touch him. 🙁
I know he and his big sister, Byelka, watch over us, including their new, little brother, Zvyezdi.
I took this picture in my front yard a few summers ago. I thought this image was good for Valentines Day because of the sunshine and promise of a coming spring. I also liked the generational aspect of the blossoms: just opening, in its prime, and going to seed.
I took this image of a setting sun shining on trees covered in a light layer of snow and ice.
While taking a picture of an airplane causing a bright light in the sky, a reflection caused what looks like a tractor beam shoot down from a UFO 🙂
My better-half took this picture of a marmot a few summers ago. Happy GHD!!!
